Sletringen Lighthouse

Sletringen Lighthouse is situated on a large rock west of the fishing village Titran on Frøya. The lighthouse is Norway's tallest at 46 meters, and is built in red cast iron. The village Titran has currently 130 residents. By Titran chapel you fill find a monument commemorating the Titran accident in 1899. 140 fishermen were killed in the course of one night during a blizzard hurricane. On Titran you will also find “Stabben Fort”, which are remnants of the German occupation and the German Atlantic Wall. Don’t miss out on this beautiful place! Photos by Rita Tangen.
